Job Summary

The City of College Station, TX is seeking a Recreation Assistant to join our team. As a Recreation Assistant, you will be responsible for supervising recreation activities for various Parks and Recreation Department programs, facilities, and events under the direction of a department supervisor. You will assist with planning, organizing, and implementing recreation programs, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.

Key Responsibilities

Meet and greet the public, serving customers with a smile.
Ensure and instruct patrons in the proper use of equipment, supplies, and facilities.
Provide responsible safety measures and adequate supervision of patrons during indoor and outdoor recreational activities.
Inspect equipment and supplies daily, reporting any needed repairs to the Recreation Supervisor.
Teach and enforce rules and regulations of activities, games, and/or facilities, conducting disciplinary procedures in a timely manner.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required; currently attending high school or equivalent experience preferred.
Sixteen (16) years of age or older.
Texas Driver's License required.
Experience working with youth and people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work weekends and evenings, with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
