Job Description:
We are seeking an adjunct instructor to teach an Introduction to GIS course as part of our Environmental Science program. The course will introduce students to the fundamental concepts and tools of geospatial analysis and cartographic design in GIS. The instructor will be responsible for developing and delivering the course curriculum, as well as assessing student learning outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver course curriculum for Introduction to GIS
- Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback
- Use ESRI GIS Pro Software to teach geospatial analysis and cartographic design
- Teach the course on Mondays in-person on our Charlestown Campus and Wednesday evenings remotely
- Work with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations
- Preferred experience in online or remote teaching
Requirements:
- Master's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related discipline
- Knowledge of ESRI GIS Pro Software
- Classroom experience teaching at the community college or at the university level
- Experience in working with diverse faculty, staff, and student populations
- Online or remote teaching experience preferred
Additional Information:
The salary for this position is $1,397.00 per lecture credit. The effective date for this position is open until filled.
