About the Role

The School of Professional Studies at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to develop and teach new courses in the life sciences industry fundamentals program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach online and/or hybrid courses in life sciences industry essentials, professional writing, and essential math and statistics for research.
  • Work with a course designer to create engaging content, including assignments, presentations, readings, and quizzes.
  • Develop and provide students with a syllabus that outlines course objectives, learning outcomes, and teaching methodology.
  • Deliver course instruction using the University's learning management system and digital tools.
  • Advise and assist students through office hours, video conferencing, phone, or email.
  • Provide service, including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and collaboration towards a new certificate in life sciences industry fundamentals.
  • Maintain communication with the Program Director and Assistant Dean, identifying students of concern and relaying student progress.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching and/or developing courses to undergraduate students in adult, part-time, or online programs.
  • Previous experience in the life sciences.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A commitment to student success and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Experience with a learning management system, such as Blackboard.
  • Experience with video-conferencing platforms, such as Zoom.
