Faculty Positions in Journalism and Communication

The Department of Communication and Journalism at Texas A&M University invites applications for two open-rank tenure-track positions to support its growing Journalism Program. We welcome candidates at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. These full-time appointments have an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025.

We seek journalism scholars with demonstrated records of peer-reviewed research and excellence in teaching who can contribute to advancing the study of contemporary journalism. Preferred candidates will have research interests in areas such as digital journalism, data journalism, media ethics, misinformation, and the impact of social media on journalism.

Successful candidates will join a dynamic department committed to shaping the future of journalism and contributing to the public good through innovative research and teaching. Our Journalism division seeks both scholarly excellence and outstanding professional preparation of students through mentoring, industry partnerships, and high-impact learning practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated record of research excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional journalism industry or entrepreneurial experience.
  • Record of interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
  • Record of teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Potential for or record of extramural support.
