About the Role: ECHN is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional clinical support to our medical staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
Educational Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additionally, you must have completed a Medical Assistant program, hold certification/registration as an MA, or have 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of being a Registered MA. Certification as a Nurse Assistant with at least 1 year of experience may also be considered.
Experience: Previous experience working in a medical facility is preferred but not mandatory. If you are eager to take on new challenges and contribute to a dynamic team environment, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination according to established office protocol.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Provide oversight to the vaccine program, adhering to State guidelines.
- Restock exam rooms with necessary supplies and ensure they are prepared for the day.
- Keep inventory of medical supplies and report any issues to the Office Coordinator/Practice Manager.
- Report malfunctioning medical equipment to the Office Coordinator/Practice Manager.
- Clean and sterilize equipment properly, preparing surgical trays as needed.
- Assist physicians/practitioners with office surgical procedures.
- Perform EKGs and Spirometry as ordered by physicians.
- Communicate lab results to patients and follow up with any necessary actions.
- Prepare specimens and paperwork for reference lab testing.
- Instruct patients on sterile urine specimen collection.
- Discard expired medications and obtain precertifications for tests, procedures, treatments, medications, and hospitalizations as needed.
- Schedule referrals and outside testing for patients as directed by physicians.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to CLIA regulations and HIPPA requirements.
