Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the Bowery Residents Committee. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with our medical director and staff to provide patient evaluation and treatment, medication management, and case conferencing. They will also be responsible for providing in-service training to our staff, input into incident review committees, and participation in external conferences.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Evaluation and Treatment: Assess patients' mental health needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Medication Management: Administer and monitor medications as prescribed by the medical director.
  • Case Conferencing: Collaborate with our staff to discuss client progress and plan for future interventions.
  • In-Service Training: Provide training to our staff on various topics related to mental health.
  • Incident Review Committees: Participate in reviewing incidents and developing strategies to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NYS Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience working in a similar capacity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
