SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, this role involves planning and organizing educational instruction in ways that enhance student learning. The educator will employ effective teaching strategies to convey subject matter to students, ensuring that diverse learning needs are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Clearly articulate learning objectives to students.
  • Design engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards to foster student growth and development.
  • Modify teaching techniques and instructional resources to accommodate diverse student needs and interests.
  • Utilize student performance data from assessments to inform instructional planning.
  • Collaborate with teacher teams to analyze educational data and adjust instruction to improve student outcomes.
  • Engage in reflective practices to enhance teaching methods and adapt to evolving learning environments.
  • Implement the district's classroom management strategies effectively.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Valid teaching license for the appropriate content area and grade level.
  • Experience in urban educational settings.
  • Understanding of literacy- and language-based instructional approaches.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and child development principles.
  • Ability and willingness to integrate technology to enhance student learning.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, stoop, and climb stairs.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move lightweight items up to 40 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is conducted in a classroom environment.
  • Occasional exposure to bodily fluids and tissues.
  • Work may be subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Some responsibilities may require completion within strict timelines.
  • Periodic travel for meetings and professional development may be necessary.
