Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to support the research enterprise and elevate the research reputation of the University.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of communication professionals to support strategic communication, events, and other initiatives related to the Office of Research and Innovation and its reporting units.
  • Represent the office in university-level meetings and participate in strategic communication planning to align internal communication strategies with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Provide executive communication support and represent the office in various settings.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify audience needs and increase engagement with internal stakeholders.
  • Successfully implement and measure the effectiveness of communications and marketing initiatives in a highly decentralized environment.
Requirements
  • Master's level education in strategic communications, business administration, or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in news media or media relations or in a field corresponding to the particular department of employment.
  • Experience identifying audience needs, increasing engagement with internal stakeholders, and successfully implementing and measuring the effectiveness of communications and marketing initiatives in a highly decentralized environment.
