Hematology and Oncology Specialist

Ochsner Health is actively seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to enhance its growing multidisciplinary team. This position is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where the successful candidate will collaborate with a dedicated group of certified Hematologist/Oncologists and Advanced Practice Providers in a well-established practice supported by a substantial referral network.
The Ochsner Cancer Institute is a comprehensive program that leads cancer treatment across Louisiana and the Gulf South, extending from Lake Charles into coastal Mississippi. The Baton Rouge Cancer Center is a dynamic, integrated facility that encompasses two locations, featuring multidisciplinary clinics that include surgical specialists, radiation oncology, and strong ties to subspecialty experts at the system hub located in New Orleans.
This practice is further bolstered by access to the Ochsner Cancer Institute's clinical research initiatives, which include the region's only Phase 1 program, alongside various innovative digital health programs. The Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baton Rouge is currently experiencing a significant expansion to accommodate the rapid growth of its services, with over $100 million invested in the Ochsner Cancer Institute over the past three years.

- Shared call rotation among physicians with a minimum of 1:5.
- Engagement in the region's largest clinical trials program, featuring the Precision Cancer Therapies Program, the only Phase 1 cancer drug development initiative in the Gulf South.
- Collaboration with a comprehensive cancer program providing a full spectrum of services, including bone marrow transplantation and surgical oncology support.
- Inpatient consultations supported by a full Hospital Medicine team.
