Job Summary

As a Radiation Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Clinical Support: Collaborate with physicians to ensure delivery of quality patient care, reinforcing standardization of processes and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Training and Oversight: Train and personally oversee newly assigned clinical personnel, ensuring they possess the necessary competencies, certifications, and licensure to provide high-quality, compassionate care to our patient population.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on their treatment options, medications, and self-care techniques, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
  • Infection Control: Implement and maintain infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Active RN License: Possess an active Registered Nurse license in the state of Louisiana.
  • ONS/OCN Certification: Hold ONS/OCN certification or be willing to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
  • BLS CPR Certification: Maintain current BLS CPR certification.
  • Experience: Possess at least 3 years of nursing experience in a clinic setting, with a preference for oncology/infusion nursing experience.
