Position Overview

The Echocardiography Technologist plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of cardiac conditions through advanced imaging techniques. This position requires a high level of expertise in performing echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms.

Certification Requirements
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS: Basic Life Support
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
  • CHEMO: Chemotherapy
  • TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course
  • EFM: Electronic Fetal Monitoring
  • Tech Cert Verification: National
  • HIPAA: Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • STABLE: Certification
  • CEUs: Continuing Education Units
  • State License Verification: Required
  • NURSYS Verification: RN, LPN/LVN, AP
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required
  • CPI: Crisis Prevention Institute Certification
  • Medication Test: Pharmacology Competency Exam
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required
Job Responsibilities
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in echocardiography.
  • Proficient in performing adult echocardiograms and transesophageal echocardiograms.
  • Ability to utilize Definity Contrast for enhanced imaging.
  • Knowledge of cardiac diagnoses including shortness of breath and chest pain.
  • Experience with 3D Echo, Bubble Studies, and Contrast Agents.
  • Familiarity with Phillips and Cerner systems is essential.
Work Schedule
  • 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.
  • Availability for at least one weekend day is required.
Additional Information
  • I-9 and Lotus I-9 Attestation are mandatory.
  • Government-issued photo ID is required for verification.
  • AHA Provider Certification is necessary, with instructor card included; RQI is acceptable.
  • Stroke and Trauma CEUs are part of the ongoing education requirements.
  • Specific documentation requirements must be met for the position.
