Part Time: 1 shift per week

Unit Overview

The ECT Program at Duke Behavioral Health Center specializes in providing effective treatment for individuals with psychiatric conditions that are resistant to traditional therapies. Utilizing advanced technology, we offer personalized care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.

Role Overview

The Registered Nurse will independently plan and deliver professional nursing care in alignment with physician directives and established protocols. This role involves providing nursing services to patients and their families, adhering to the standards set by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and document nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain an organized work environment and identify resources to facilitate timely care delivery.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance nursing competencies.
  • Support the growth of fellow staff members and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
QualificationsEducation
  • Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program is required.
  • Registered Nurses without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within two years of employment and complete it within five years.
Experience
  • No prior RN experience is necessary for new graduates.
  • One year of RN experience is required for Level II positions.
Licensure and Certifications
  • Current RN licensure in North Carolina is mandatory.
  • BLS certification is required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of nursing roles and responsibilities.
  • Proficient in applying the nursing process effectively.
  • Ability to assess the needs of patients and their families.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Competence in using technology for patient care documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective relationships.
  • Physical stamina to perform nursing duties efficiently.
