Job Overview
Role Objective:
Under the supervision of the Director of Criminal Justice Program, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is tasked with evaluating clients' employability to ascertain their eligibility for services and subsequently making suitable referrals both internally and externally to ensure successful completion of their service plans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts interviews with clients to gather information regarding their employment history, educational qualifications, career aspirations, etc., to evaluate their job-related capabilities and requirements.
- Identifies obstacles to employment and aids clients in cultivating job readiness skills and effective job search strategies.
- Provides personalized counseling sessions to clients.
- Assists clients in crafting resumes and cover letters, as well as preparing for interviews.
- Administers standardized assessments to evaluate client interests, aptitudes, and skills.
- Monitors and supports clients as they advance through their Employment Service Plans.
- Collects feedback from clients regarding their experiences in the program.
- Conducts follow-ups with clients at designated intervals to evaluate progress and document outcomes.
- Engages in outreach activities to connect with clients, employers, and the community to promote program services.
- Initiates cold calls to potential employers to explain the benefits and employment support services available.
- Collaborates with job development services, government agencies, and other social, employment, and community organizations as necessary to facilitate client progress.
- Facilitates seminars and workshops to enhance client skills.
- Participates in networking events as required.
- Maintains detailed case notes and documentation regarding clients' progress and stays updated on industry changes.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in human services or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Job Developer or Supported Employment Specialist.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, as this role involves regular interaction with various employers and community contacts.
- Ability to work independently, manage stress, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $40,000 - $50,000 annually
