Job Title: Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at LifeScience Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse and distribution operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Direct, mentor, train, and coach direct reports to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Site Representation: Serve as the Designated Representative (DR) for our site, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and maintain departmental budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of expenses.
  • Initiative Planning and Execution: Lead and/or assist with planning, design, implementation, communication, and delivery of company initiatives, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Warehouse Operations: Track and account for warehouse accuracy and productivity, identifying areas for improvement and implementing measures to enhance efficiency.
  • Employee Engagement: Create and implement measures to improve and maintain employee morale, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Frequently interact with CEO, VPs, Directors, Clients, and Managers to meet company initiatives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Special Projects: Implement special projects as assigned by Senior Management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • After-Hours and Emergency Operations: Oversee all after-hour events and potentially manage 24/7 emergency operations, ensuring continuity and effectiveness.
  • Safety and Compliance: Serve as the Hazard Communication Program Administrator, ensuring all safety procedures, cGMP, SOPs, and work instructions are followed to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Facility Maintenance: Work with Facility Management to ensure the facility structure is maintained as a safe working environment.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts for vendor services, ensuring effective and cost-efficient operations.
  • Culture and Values: Promote a work environment with emphasis on Safety, Regulatory compliance, and Client Focus, aligning with company values.
Qualifications and Job Specifications:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree plus 5 years distribution and warehouse management experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a warehouse or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: Required - A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Required - Demonstrated healthcare experience in a regulated environment and demonstrated working knowledge of cGMPs, VAWD, ISO, DEA, FDA, and US Customs standards and regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Familiar with temperature-controlled warehousing.
  • Soft Skills: Demonstrate effective time management skills, impeccable verbal and written communication skills, ability to conduct appropriate research as needed, strong presentation skills, attention to detail and organization, and interest in working in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Expertise:
  • ERP System Navigation: Expertly navigate through ERP system - Tecsys Elite, MQ1.
  • Microsoft Office Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel (including Statistics and Pivot Tables), PowerPoint.
  • Warehouse and Supply Chain Experience: Experience with warehouse or supply chain environments and transportation.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to conduct/track graphical and data-driven analytics related to Client performance.
  • Budget Management: Ability to maintain and track budget/spending trends.
  • Public Speaking: Advanced public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Language: Clear and Professional diction in English.
Additional Employment Requirements:
  • Criminal Background Check: Must be able to satisfactorily pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check, credit check, and drug screen).
  • Travel: Some travel required.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
Physical/Mental/Visual Demands:
  • Work Environment: Work is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasks.
  • Vision: Must be able to read at a distance, close to the eyes, and at arm's length, with or without correction.
  • Data Collection: Approximately 10% of time is spent on data collection and data entry.
  • Lifting: Occasional lifting of lbs. is required.
Working Conditions:
  • Temperature-Controlled Areas: Activities may occur inside temperature-controlled areas which may require Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Hazardous Conditions: Hazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and working in high places.

Desktop or laptop, fax machine, copier, desk phone, forklift, and pallet jack

Systems: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TECSYS (WMS - warehouse management system) and MQ1 (Quality Software)
