Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Specialist to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a key member of our Child Welfare Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children and families in our state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and facilitate the placement of children in CYFD custody by studying relative and non-relative families interested in becoming foster and adoptive families.
  • Document and evaluate cases to ensure quality, quantity, and completeness as per CYFD policy and procedures.
  • Process payments on a timely basis and in accordance with CYFD guidelines to support Protective Services Division practice model.
  • Provide post-placement services to adoptive and foster families.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited college/university, and licensure by the New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners at the LBSW, LMSW, or LISW level or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with NM requirements.
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or related experience totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in an office setting, with late hours, weekends, on-call, and callback work may be required. The incumbent will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel is required, and possible exposure to irate clientele may occur.
