Job Summary

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse is a licensed direct care provider of psychiatric evaluation and medication management services. This member of a multi-disciplinary team including a prescriber, clinical therapist, employment specialist, and substance abuse specialist. The Psych RN is responsible for conducting psychiatric health assessments; assessing physical health needs; making appropriate referrals to community physicians; providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the prescriber; providing of a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services; and, sharing administrative responsibility with medical assistants and other ancillary staff.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct psychiatric health assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Assess physical health needs and make referrals to community physicians
  • Provide management and administration of medication in conjunction with the prescriber
  • Provide a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services
  • Share administrative responsibility with medical assistants and other ancillary staff
Requirements
  • Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Nursing Practice
  • 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric nurse provider
  • RN licensure in New Mexico
  • CPR and First Aid certified
