Position Summary:

The Count Room Operations Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all monetary transactions within the casino environment. This position is responsible for meticulously counting and reconciling all cash and coinage collected from various gaming activities, including live games and slot machines, while adhering to the Saracen Casino Resort's established policies and internal control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently counts and balances all cash and coins received from live gaming tables, slot bill validators, and other revenue sources.
  • Opens and inspects pit boxes, accurately sorting and counting the currency using specialized counting equipment.
  • Records totals by box or table number into the computerized system for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Conducts thorough comparisons of total fills and credits with system-generated reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Processes revenue envelopes, counting and sorting the currency within, while documenting any discrepancies.
  • Handles slot machine validators, ensuring all currency is counted and recorded accurately.
  • Organizes and bundles soft currency by denomination for efficient processing.
  • Prepares comprehensive reports in compliance with state gaming regulations and company policies.
  • Submits all counted soft currency to the Cage along with the necessary documentation for accounting purposes.
  • Maintains a clean and organized count room environment at all times.
  • Provides exceptional service to all patrons, ensuring a professional and courteous atmosphere.
  • Adheres to attendance guidelines and complies with all regulatory and company policies.
  • Participates in required training sessions and contributes to various projects as needed.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to excellence and upholds the reputation of Saracen Casino Resort.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of six months experience in cash handling or related fields preferred.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical operations and able to utilize counting machines and computers.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Familiarity with gaming regulations and compliance requirements is essential.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with customers and staff.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending and squatting.
  • Visual acuity to perform detailed counting and monitoring tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced casino environment with exposure to various stimuli.
  • Must maintain stamina and a positive attitude while managing multiple tasks.
