Job Summary

Cage cashiers play a crucial role in ensuring seamless financial transactions and exceptional customer service at the Saracen Casino Resort. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling guest transfers, cashing personal checks, and selling gaming chips or tickets to patrons. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential in maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction and ensuring compliance with internal control standards and gaming laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process a wide range of financial transactions, including cashing personal checks, Travelers Checks, and Cash Advances on credit cards.
  • Sell gaming chips or tickets to patrons or internal employees.
  • Exchange chips and tickets for cash.
  • Use currency counters, adding machines, and computers to calculate and record transactions.
  • Balance cash drawer transactions, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Follow Cage policies and procedures related to currency handling, check cashing, chip handling, and guest service.
  • Responsible for multiple transaction recording and SAR activity.
  • Knowledge of local jurisdiction and gaming laws, as well as internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Brings guest disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the Cage Shift Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older upon employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and to perform these operations using units of US currency.
  • Excellent guest relation skills and ability to be attentive and anticipate all guest needs.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Employment contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

  • Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the Casino for a lengthy period of time – up to eight (8) hours.
  • Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to see clearly up close, to see clearly at a distance, distinguish color, see with peripheral vision, and rapidly focus from near to far and back.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and noisy environment.
  • Must have sufficient physical and manual dexterity to handle and count money efficiently.
  • May be exposed to cigarette and cigar smoke.
  • Must have the ability to work indoors as well as in extreme temperatures.
  • Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and members of the business community in all situations.
