Job Title: Youth Engagement Coordinator
Department: Community Outreach and Fan Engagement
Reports To: Senior Manager of Community Programs

Status: Exempt

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all initiatives related to the Kids Club, including developing annual packages and marketing strategies, ensuring member retention, and generating new memberships.
  • Organize and manage monthly events for Kids Club members, focusing on interactive and engaging activities for families.
  • Handle all logistical aspects of Kids Club membership packages, including order management and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance community engagement through events that benefit Kids Club participants.
  • Design and implement street hockey programs, including leagues and clinics, to promote the sport within the community.
  • Coordinate team signing events, managing inventory and distribution effectively.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events, such as birthday celebrations for team mascots.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to event planning and community outreach programs.
  • Maintain timely communication regarding customer inquiries and feedback, providing assistance as needed.
  • Work towards exceeding registration goals for community programs through innovative strategies.
  • Manage the execution of educational programs aimed at youth development in hockey.
  • Identify and pursue new grassroots initiatives to fulfill departmental objectives.
  • Support the growth of community relations and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with various teams to enhance visibility and awareness of youth programs.
  • Demonstrate a passion for hockey and a commitment to cultivating new fans of the sport.
  • Implement summer reading initiatives in partnership with local schools and libraries.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in a professional sports environment or youth-focused organization.
  • Proven ability to creatively plan and assess youth programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor, particularly when working with children and young adults.
  • Certification in USA Hockey Volunteer/Manager and SafeSport is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining a customer-centric approach.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset and a sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in playing hockey is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.
  • Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including noise and temperature changes.
  • Ability to work in a cold environment.
