Job Overview: The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is seeking a dedicated General Cashier. The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining an adequate supply of funds for seamless operations while ensuring that all cash transactions and receipts are accurately controlled and recorded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct internal audits of House Funds and other necessary internal controls.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and manage petty cash reimbursements.
  • Investigate discrepancies in bank counts and report findings to the Assistant Controller.
  • Process petty cash reimbursements with complete documentation and proper G/L coding.
  • Handle a variety of tasks, transitioning between them efficiently without loss of composure.
  • Collect drop envelopes from the drop safe and verify contents against the Deposit Summary Log.
  • Count drops, prepare change orders, due backs, and foreign exchange deposits.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education: high school equivalency, with some hotel or college training preferred.

  • Proficient in general business systems (e.g., Word, Excel) and Property Management and Point of Sale Systems (e.g., Opera, Micros).
