Responsibilities
Under the direction of a radiologist, this position performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network. The position involves reviewing patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and protocols. The staff member will transport patients to and from the exam room and assist them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment. The position requires performing radiology procedures and observing patients during procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort. The staff member will administer contrast materials as required and initiate emergency response to contrast reactions as needed. The position involves obtaining and evaluating images for technical quality assurance factors, including image laterality marking and annotation as required by radiology procedure protocols. The staff member will utilize RIS, PACS, and other ancillary image management systems as needed to assist in the coordination of daily workflow for the department's activities. The position requires maintaining equipment in efficient operating order, performing and documenting all required quality control testing, and contacting service for repair and maintenance as directed. The staff member will rotate throughout the department as staffing and volume dictate. The position involves participating in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff as needed. The staff member will maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff in the assigned area. The position requires maintaining stock and inventory as assigned and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED completion of an ARRT-accredited radiography program or US military radiography training. Experience: Successful completion of radiologic training. Licenses and Certifications: Radiology ARRT - Radiology Tech License, ARRT (R) credential and licensure, Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRTLC), AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license, and Basic Life Support (BLS).
