About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Department Manager to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and directing the daily operations of our radiology department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct staffing, scheduling of patients, and personnel evaluations.
  • Interpret and communicate UnityPoint Health - Des Moines and Radiology policies and procedures to subordinates.
  • Manage issues related to staffing, morale, work methods, procedures, transfers, and corrective actions in accordance with UnityPoint Health - Des Moines policies.
  • Coordinate the evaluation, procurement, and installation of capital equipment.
  • Maintain proper records for auditing purposes and prepare monthly reports as needed.
  • Coordinate and perform PPD and new hire evaluations.
  • Coordinate and attend monthly staff meetings and educational opportunities.
  • Demonstrate initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Practice reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet the department work schedule.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology or approved School of Nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years within a Radiology Based Service to include: ARRT RT R / NM / U/S / RN / MR / CV.
  • License(s)/Certification(s): For RT, NM, MR, & CV: Current State Permit to Practice and National Registry. For RN Current Iowa Board of Nursing License. For U/S Current ARDMS Registry. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
