Role Overview: As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will spearhead a comprehensive instrumentation testing team, overseeing a wide array of test operations. Your responsibilities will encompass data acquisition package design, test planning, execution, analysis, and reporting support, along with managing customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team throughout extensive test campaigns involving a fleet of aircraft.
  • Oversee the instrumentation process from initial design through to de-modification, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Engage in high-level Integrated Test discussions with customers and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate with Test Engineering and Operations teams to address instrumentation needs and scheduling.
  • Manage work activities as a Control Account Manager.
  • Conduct functional analysis, timeline assessments, and detailed trade studies to convert instrumentation requirements into technical specifications.
  • Serve as a technical liaison to the Test Engineering Manager.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with extensive ground and flight testing programs.
  • Familiarity with 14 CFR Part 25 testing protocols.
  • Experience in testing Military Systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage functional responsibilities for medium-sized programs.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, 1553, ARINC 429, and CAN bus.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous leadership experience, including recruitment and staff development.
  • Ability to independently manage large-scale programs.
  • Experience with testing large transport category jet aircraft.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing complex instrumentation data acquisition systems.
  • Experience in generating electrical and mechanical schematics for instrumentation installations.
  • Background in software development or coding.
