Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist IV to join our team at PCI Productions. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans to support the NASA Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Communications Plans: Create and execute comprehensive communications strategies to promote the PPE project and its mission.
  • Build Relationships with Stakeholders: Foster strong relationships with NASA stakeholders, including project leads, scientists, and engineers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage Public Engagement and Outreach: Oversee all aspects of public engagement and outreach, including event planning, logistics, and volunteer management.
  • Author and Coordinate Communications Materials: Write and edit communications materials, including press releases, social media posts, and newsletters, to promote the PPE project and its mission.
  • Support Media Relations: Coordinate with NASA's Public Affairs Office to respond to media inquiries and provide information to the public.
  • Develop and Maintain Outreach Materials: Create and maintain outreach materials, including brochures, posters, and other visual aids, to promote the PPE project and its mission.
  • Lead Outreach and Engagement Efforts: Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to promote the PPE project and its mission, including partnerships with local organizations and community groups.
  • Support Quarterly Newsletter: Author and coordinate the PPE narrative for the Co-Manifested Vehicle (CMV) Quarterly Newsletter.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project management, engineering, and science teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Related Field: A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 15 Years of Relevant Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field, with a strong background in strategic communications and public engagement.
  • Advanced Communications Skills: Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to write and edit communications materials for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience with Social Media: Experience with social media management and a strong understanding of its role in communications and public engagement.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
