Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Engagement Professional to join our team at the University of Miami. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding student access to career education through innovative and engaging ways, leading pre-law career coaching, and collaborating with departments to build meaningful relationships across campus.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the career development of our students. As a Career Engagement Professional, you will work closely with the Toppel Career Center team to design and implement career-related activities and programs that align with the university's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies to engage more students in career education services and resources, particularly those who have not yet sought out career services.
  • Collaborate with departments including the Office of Academic Enhancement, LGBTQ+ Center, the Office of Disability Services, Multicultural Student Affairs, and others to expand access to target student groups.
  • Connect and regularly meet with relevant student organizations to share career resources and information with their members and learn about their needs.
  • Serve on the workgroup responsible for planning and executing the annual ToppelFest event targeting incoming students.
  • Plan Toppel Tuesday "pop-up" events on a yearly basis to promote Toppel resources and services.
  • Cultivate professional relationships with law schools and pre-law organizations to provide valuable insights and opportunities to students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in career development, higher education, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to small and large audiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet use, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
Benefits

The University of Miami offers a competitive salary range of $49,858.49 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
