Job Title: Construction Engineering Technician

Unified Business Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Construction Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage construction quality management programs for assigned projects.
  • Provide recommendations for approval of contractor quality control plans.
  • Attend quality control, preparatory, and initial meetings, and monitor three-phase checklists for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Validate quantity, condition, and approval of materials on site prior to government issuing invoice payments.
  • Coordinate support to review and witness successful testing and commissioning/certification of critical systems.
  • Assure quality workmanship in accordance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform cursory review of Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and ensure compliance with safety and health requirements.
  • Support extensive contact with key construction contractor representatives to promote partnering and cooperation.
  • Coordinate temporary utility and communication hook-ups, utility outages, and road closures.
  • Support the review/approval of all government-approved technical and administrative submittals.
  • Investigate engineering problems that may arise on construction contracts.
  • Support the close-out process, including delivery of as-built drawings, warranties, and spare parts turnover.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of verified experience as a Quality Control Manager or Superintendent working for General Contractors on NAVFAC or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) projects.
  • OR 10 years of verified foreman experience in one or more of the following trades: Concrete, Mechanical, Electrical, Masonry, or Plumbing.
  • At least 20% of the Engineering Technician support shall be in the Mechanical HVAC/Controls area of expertise.
  • Must successfully complete the eight (8) hour class titled Construction Quality Management for Contractors course associated with the ACOE.
