Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex imaging exams in assigned modalities, providing safe and patient-centered care, and maintaining annual competencies in assigned modalities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex imaging exams in assigned modalities, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety.
  • Provide patient-centered care, addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients of all age groups.
  • Maintain annual competencies in assigned modalities, staying up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.
  • Collaborate with licensed independent practitioners to complete radiologic imaging exams, adhering to department protocols and institutional safety standards.
  • Represent the goals, values, and vision of VCU Health System, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, health system policies, and department procedures.
Requirements
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) as a Sonographer ARRT(S) or RDMS or CCI certification in Medical Sonography or RDCS certification in Cardiac Sonography or RVT certification as Vascular Technologist.
  • At least one of the following specialty certifications: MRI, CT, PET, ARDMS, or CCI.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification.
  • One (1) year of previous Technologist work experience.
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of previous Technologist work experience in each of the assigned modalities (preferred).
Working Conditions

This position requires prolonged standing, sitting, and walking, as well as the ability to lift 20-50 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced, with frequent and intense customer interactions. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to frequent change and work in a noisy environment.
