KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide guidance to students applying for financial aid; assist in completing necessary documentation; assess and verify financial aid applications for compliance and eligibility for various funding sources.
  • Utilize workshops, one-on-one meetings, and digital platforms to deliver clear and accurate information while supporting students and their families throughout the financial aid process.
  • Review student applications to determine eligibility for financial assistance and ensure adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations.
  • Handle applications selected for verification, requesting additional documentation as necessary, and making adjustments to aid packages as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication within the department and with students.
  • Evaluate special circumstances documentation and exercise discretion in making adjustments to financial aid eligibility.
  • Participate in team meetings and student forums to share information and insights.
  • Interpret and apply relevant federal and state regulations to ensure compliance and timely processing of applications.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive resources to students and represent the Financial Aid office at various events.
  • Assist leadership in developing strategies that enhance student satisfaction and meet departmental goals.
  • Conduct presentations and information sessions related to financial aid and enrollment services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify students who are transitioning out of the institution and prepare necessary exit documentation.
  • Engage in various school functions, including receptions and marketing events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Associate's Degree required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in customer service.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Preferred Experience: 2-3 years in higher education financial aid and student packaging.
