About the Position

The County of Santa Barbara is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Correctional Health Quality Care Improvement Manager to join our team. As a senior-level manager in the Civil Service system, you will report to the Chief Correctional Healthcare Medical Advisor and be responsible for leading others and modeling behaviors that exemplify quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and monitor the quality of healthcare services within the County Jails and Juvenile Hall.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and assure adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory standards by the Contractor providing health care services.
  • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
  • Manage and monitor regulations, utilization review, and substance misuse, alcohol, and other drug disorders.
  • Collaborate with Contractor and County departments to facilitate coordinated and integrated healthcare services.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to address complex healthcare cases and coordinate care transitions.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the State of California.
  • Three years of post-licensure experience in utilization review, quality improvement, or related experience in a hospital or healthcare setting, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and administer Utilization Management and Quality Improvement programs effectively.
  • Strong leadership abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
