Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airfield Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance activities to ensure the safety and efficiency of our airfield operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a range of equipment, including tractors, mowers, chainsaws, and skid steer loaders, to perform maintenance tasks on airport pavements and grounds.
  • Perform routine maintenance on Authority-owned vehicles and equipment, including oil and fluid checks, oil changes, and lubricating.
  • Assist in the installation and repair of chain link and other type fences and gates.
  • Perform garbage and debris clean-up on Authority-owned properties and maintain shop areas and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Assist other departments with special projects or assignments as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the operation of gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles.
  • Experience in the operation of concrete saws, chainsaws, and other hand tools.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of general construction practices used in installing/repairing concrete.
  • Demonstrated experience operating skid steer loaders, frontend loaders, backhoes, and mowers.
Working Conditions

This position is primarily performed in an outdoor environment in a variety of climates. Involves exposure to noise, vibrations, chemical, and other contaminants, moving mechanical hazards, and extremes of temperature and weather conditions.

Must have sufficient visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses; sufficient auditory ability, with or without audio logical devices; able to tolerate exposure to noise levels up to 120 decibels; capable of being on one's feet for extended periods of time and lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
