We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian/Bus Driver to join our team at Lee County School District, NC. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our school buildings and buses.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of manual activities, including cleaning and maintaining building facilities, operating school buses, and performing minor maintenance tasks.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of school buses, including daily inspections and reporting of any defects or issues.
- Transport students safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and school bus regulations.
- Maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Some experience in housekeeping and/or bus driving.
- CDL License with passenger school bus endorsement and Bus Drivers Pocket Card.
- Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment and initiative.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Working knowledge of basic cleaning methods, procedures, and techniques.
- Skill in use of cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of safe and efficient practices and procedures used in the operation of a school bus.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to dust, dirt, and other cleaning agents. The employee must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
