Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Americold Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and driving efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise production employees to ensure production guidelines are met within established timing, quality, and cost standards.
  • Train, direct, coach, and lead the production team in day-to-day operations to meet production, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Drive communication of production goals and objectives, as well as results, to effectively motivate the team to maintain high product quality while maximizing plant efficiencies.
  • Maintain safety and environmental self-audits and visual checks, champion all safety or ergonomic activities for the department, and help develop and meet plant safety goals.
  • Ensure all staff and employees know and understand the Food Safety plan and the Food Quality plan.
  • Train employees to ensure safe operating procedures are followed.
  • Adhere to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain desired product quality results.
  • Maintain adequate knowledge of products and equipment to ensure ability to direct employees to perform the job properly.
  • Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with HACCP and USDA regulations, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Walk the production floor daily and hold monthly line meetings to address questions and concerns.
  • Maintain or exceed goals on yields and efficiencies.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to maintain knowledge of yields and variances, methods of calculations, typical problem areas, and methods for corrections and improvement.
  • Suggest changes in work flow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and/or production crew to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible.
  • Trace and analyze key product result measures for improvement opportunities.
  • Plan day and assess proposed production demands.
  • Understand and operate all Farmers related equipment.
  • Interact daily with Operations and QA.
  • Complete all tasks requested by Operations and QA in a timely manner on a daily basis.
  • Be receptive and driven to meet goals given by operations.
  • Maintain open communication with operations regarding issues, setbacks, and reasonability of expectations on a daily basis.
  • Oversee all production activities on the plant floor.
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  • Start and shut down equipment.
  • Keep production organized and efficient via communication and planning.
Requirements
  • HS Diploma
  • 3+ years supervisory or production environment experience; or successful completion of Americold's internship program; or a bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred candidates will have one or more of the following qualifications, in addition to meeting the above minimum requirements: Previous food processing experience; supervisory experience; manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations.
  • Bilingual a plus.
