Job Summary

The Master Equipment Technician is a critical role at Western States CAT, responsible for expert-level diagnosis, failure analysis, and repair of Caterpillar and allied equipment. This position requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a passion for safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment issues, including engines, powertrains, and electrical systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Collaborate with technical communicators and CAT to resolve complex engine issues
  • Develop and implement effective troubleshooting strategies to minimize downtime
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development
Requirements
  • Strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar and allied equipment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to obtain job-related certifications for specialty equipment
