We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. As a key member of our MEP engineering firm, you will be responsible for designing and implementing HVAC and plumbing systems for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the design and development of HVAC and plumbing systems for new and existing buildings
- Collaborate with multi-discipline staff to ensure proper coordination and implementation of mechanical systems
- Interface with clients, vendors, contractors, and associates to support project design and execution
- Perform mechanical design calculations and computations, including building heating and cooling
- Ensure compliance with building design and energy codes and standards
- Survey mechanical systems, equipment, and building conditions
- Specify equipment requirements and prepare technical reports and specifications
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project team members to support project design and execution
- Manage multiple projects through design and construction
- Coordinate with design team professionals to ensure proper coordination and implementation of construction documents
- Research and apply applicable codes to design
- Perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of design documents
- Prepare concept, schematic design, design development, and construction documents
- Conduct code research and incorporate applicable requirements into the design
- Prepare design drawings, specifications, and control sequences of operation
- During project construction, conduct submittal reviews, make construction site visits, and observe system start-ups
- Interact closely with company staff, management, and clients
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Architectural Engineering, Plumbing Engineer, or equivalent
- Knowledge of LEED and Green Building practices is a plus
- Three or more years of engineering experience in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems
- Engineer in Training (EIT)/Fundamental Engineer (FE) exam required
- AutoCAD and Revit experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus, not required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain professional client relationships
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
