Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
  • Assist attorneys in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
  • Perform administrative duties, such as answering phone calls and maintaining a case filing system to ensure all documents are readily accessible
  • Coordinate law office activities, including drafting subpoenas and working with process servers
  • Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
  • Handle real estate transactions from start to finish using eClosing, with a focus on working independently and collaborating with banks, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, and lenders
  • Support clients with divorce and family law matters, from intake through discovery, trial, and judgment
  • Assist with estate planning, including wills and trusts, using Wealth Counsel
Requirements
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm setting, working under the supervision of an attorney
  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, with a Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong preference for candidates with paralegal professional certification or advanced paralegal education
  • Experience with eClosing
