Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical experience.
  • Continuously assess patient flow to optimize scheduling and minimize wait times.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to patient, clinical, and operational concerns.
  • Cross-train with Patient Relations staff to ensure seamless coverage in their absence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Support the achievement of practice and organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Training as a Dental Assistant, preferably through a practice-based dental assisting program or other educational program.
  • CPR or BLS certification.
  • Preferred clinical experience in a high-functioning dental office.
  • Training on an electronic medical record.
  • EPIC training is a major plus, but not necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental patient screening, and medical history documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management and punctuality.
  • A positive attitude and professionalism as a representative of High Point University Health.
  • Receptive to feedback, performance improvement, and continuous coaching.
  • Flexibility to cover other offices under High Point University Health.
Accountability
  • Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Ongoing performance reviews and annual assessments by the CDO, including input from faculty and students.
