Job Title: Scrum Master

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview:

  • The Lead Scrum Master is tasked with guiding multiple or larger scale teams through Agile methodologies.
  • Incumbents operate with a high degree of autonomy and spearhead initiatives to resolve challenges across various teams.
  • This position collaborates closely with fellow scrum masters, product owners, team members, and management, adhering to the Agile framework.
  • With minimal oversight, the candidate will: Ensure the Team operates at peak efficiency, protecting them from external distractions.
  • Embody a servant leadership approach; demonstrate behaviors and situations for their teams, including: Eliminating obstacles that hinder the team's progress.
  • Collect metrics to assess Team and project health (e.g., Burn-Down Chart, velocity, etc.);
  • Mentor Team members and advocate for Agile principles, ensuring compliance with established processes.
  • Execute the following Agile practices and processes to uphold the integrity of the Agile framework:
  • Facilitate estimation sessions (story points, Planning Poker);
  • Manage the backlog and physical Scrum (task) board in collaboration with the Team and Product Owner; Ensure artifact quality; Identify and track impediments, risks, and dependencies until they are resolved;
  • Update the team's improvement backlog with commitments derived from the Retrospective.
  • Prepare and distribute the team's Commitment report and End of Sprint Report based on the Demo and Product Owner acceptance.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university or 7+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience with project concepts and practices.
  • In addition to the degree, 3+ years of Scrum Master experience is required. Scrum Master certification (CSM) is preferred. Experience transitioning teams and organizations from waterfall to Agile methodologies is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization; capable of delivering persuasive and informative presentations.
  • Experience with feature manipulation engines.
