Estate Planning Attorney

We are excited to offer a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced estate planning attorney to join our team as a Senior Associate Attorney in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

This is a fantastic chance for an accomplished attorney to take on a high-level role, providing expert estate planning services to our valued clients. You will be working in-office alongside a collaborative team, leading, mentoring, and making an immediate impact.

About the Role:

• Provide legal counsel to high-net-worth individuals and families on trusts, wills, probate, and related matters.
• Lead and manage complex estate planning, probate, and administration cases.
• Draft and review estate planning documents with precision and care using Wealth Counsel software.
• Collaborate with our legal team to provide exceptional outcomes for our clients.
• Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Engage with clients directly to understand their needs, build lasting relationships, and maintain trust and confidentiality.
• Execute client-facing design meetings and answer client questions with ease and knowledge.
• Manage and oversee paralegals, ensuring they meet KPI requirements.
• Host webinars and workshops within the community (min. 2 nights a month required).

You're Probably a Match If You Have:

• A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Massachusetts Bar and NH Bar is a plus.
• A minimum of 5+ years of sophisticated experience in trusts and estates law.
• Elder Law experience preferred.
• Expertise in estate planning, trusts, probate law, and taxation related to estate matters.
• Proficiency with Wealth Counsel is a must.
• A tech-savvy mindset and ability to learn and use legal technology effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
• A desire to mentor, lead, and work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent knowledge of income, gift, estate, and generation-skipping tax matters.
• LLM in taxation is preferred.
