Job Title: School Social WorkerJob Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Social Worker to support the emotional, social, and psychological well-being of our students in New Lenox. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct social work services, conduct assessments, and develop intervention plans to promote positive mental health and social skills among students.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution services to students.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' needs and develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to address behavioral, emotional, and social issues affecting students' academic performance.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, community organizations, and external agencies to connect students and families with necessary resources and support.
  • Develop and implement preventive programs and initiatives to promote positive mental health, social skills, and resilience among students.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans for students with special needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all student interactions, assessments, and interventions.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state license/certification as a School Social Worker (if required by the state).
  • Previous experience working as a School Social Worker or in a similar capacity preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development, counseling techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations and understand the unique needs of students from various backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to child welfare and education.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing challenges.
