Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for Consult Service

Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Consult Service team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with psychiatrists, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:- Assess, diagnose, and treat mental illness in patients admitted to Silver Cross Hospital for acute medical illness.
- Collaborate with supervising psychiatrists and work as a physician extender.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including hospitalists, RNs, mental health crisis teams, medical social workers, and patient family members.
- Review laboratory and diagnostic test results.
- Work closely with psychiatric social workers to assist with disposition and treatment planning.
- Education: Master's degree in Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner from an accredited nursing school.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of post-graduate clinical experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in a hospital setting.
- Additional Skills: Comprehensive liability insurance, current CPR certification, CPI & CPR training provided upon hire.
