About the Opportunity

MassMutual is seeking a skilled and experienced Strategic Procurement Contract Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that our company maintains its reputation for excellence through effective contract management.

Estimated Salary: $105,000 - $135,000 per year, based on experience and location (Springfield, MA or Boston, MA). This figure is an estimate and may vary depending on individual circumstances.

About the Job

The Strategic Procurement Contract Specialist will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts with suppliers. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including business owners, legal, IT, and other departments, to ensure that contracts are developed and executed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and Negotiating Contracts: Develop and negotiate contractual positions based on documented standards, taking into account the specifics of each commercial deal.
  • Contract Management: Coordinate multiple simultaneous projects, requiring excellent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support to Contract Compliance Practices Consultant: Provide assistance with updates and usage of our contract templates.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders, leadership, and third parties to assess risks specific to each transaction.
  • Negotiation with Suppliers: Produce contracts that adhere to MassMutual contracting standards and meet business objectives.
  • Driving Transactions to Completion: Collaborate with the larger Procurement team and stakeholders to drive transactions to completion in a timely manner.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Required.
  • 7+ Years of Experience in Contract Evaluation, Drafting, and Negotiation/Redlining: Essential.
  • 7+ Years of Experience Managing Supplier Engagements and/or Engaging with Procurement-Related Functions: Necessary.
