Maintenance Associate

- Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Associate to join our team at Friendship Community. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the organization's physical sites and promoting the safety and well-being of all individuals and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance of Friendship Community's physical sites, including buildings, vehicles, and grounds.
- Remain familiar with all Friendship Community buildings and equipment, electrical, water, and sewage systems to manage routine maintenance and emergency operation protocols.
- Assist the Maintenance Team in long-range planning of facilities, updating maintenance improvement programs, and meeting with vendors.
- Perform building, vehicle, grounds, and other necessary work projects as assigned to maintain Friendship Community properties.
- Provide on-site supervision and coordination for building and remodeling projects, including working with subcontractors and volunteers.
- Maintain security practices related to property access.
- Maintain assigned work vehicle, including stock of well-maintained tools, as required for the scope of required tasks.
- Attend training sessions as assigned and maintain annual training requirements.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulatory guidelines.
Work Schedule:
- Maintenance Associates are full-time (40 hours per week), with hours generally 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility to respond to urgent needs as they arise outside of typical business hours.
Requirements:
- Basic carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing skill knowledge is preferred.
- Specialized training and certification in a specific trade field.
- Proficiency in building construction and mechanicals.
- Demonstration of sound decision-making and performance of tasks with limited direct supervision.
- Promotion of efficiency and sustainable solutions.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work cohesively with a team.
- Demonstration of creativity with available resources.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Promotion of safety culture.
- Basic computer skills that include using email, navigating the internet, creating spreadsheets, and updating maintenance-related software.
Tools and Vehicle:
- Tools and a work vehicle will be provided and must be maintained by a Maintenance Associate per the organization's policies and required practices.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
