Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement IP routing and Ethernet switching solutions to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Network Security: Configure and manage Palo Alto Firewalls to ensure robust network security and protect against cyber threats.
  • Transport Network Management: Collaborate with ISPs and telecommunications providers to manage transport networks utilizing Ciena, Nokia, and other technologies.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Network Assessments and Improvement: Perform network assessments and develop strategies for improvement and scaling as necessary.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems with business applications.
  • Documentation and Training: Document network configurations, standards, and procedures for future reference and training.
  • Industry Trends and Advancements: Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in network technologies, including Passive Optical Networking.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on IP routing and Ethernet switching.
  • Skills: Proven experience with Palo Alto Firewall configuration and management, strong understanding of ISP transport technologies and related platforms, familiarity with Passive Optical Networking (PON) technologies, and networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the Network Operations or Telecommunications industry.
  • Certifications like Network+, Cisco, CCST, or CCNA are a huge plus.
  • ITIL Certification.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud surveillance.
