Job Summary

UNM Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Services team at the MATS Center. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide exceptional care to patients with various cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and provide education to patients and families.
  • Administer medication and treatment, and perform various administrative functions such as monitoring expenditures and preparing reports.
  • Participate in orientation and precepting of new personnel, and contribute to the development of service plans and program policies.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
  • 1 year of direct experience in a mental health/psychiatric environment.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish language proficiency.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. The position also requires the ability to work with patients who may exhibit aggressive behavior.
