About the Role

The Menta Education Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Bilingual Specialist LBS2 to join our team. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in advancing student achievement among English language learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct ELL students with disabilities in academic subjects, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Travel to sites to train teachers, staff, and administration in ELL curriculum, supports, and interventions, ensuring seamless implementation and integration.
  • Attend IEP meetings in person or virtually for ELL students, actively participating in the development and implementation of individualized education plans.
  • Prepare and adapt materials for use in the classroom for ELL students, maintaining a well-organized and inclusive learning environment.
  • Attend Curriculum Team Meetings, contributing to the development and refinement of our educational programs.
  • Supervise students, in groups or individually, monitoring behavior to ensure alignment with programmatic expectations and promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and update IEP goals and progress for EL students on assigned caseload, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Monitor credits and courses required for graduation for students on assigned caseload, preparing assignments, grading, and preparing reports as needed.
  • Contact student's parents in case of crisis, emergency, and for general feedback, maintaining open and effective communication.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other staff members to ensure consistent application of the academic and therapeutic program, promoting a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and student records, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Attend all staff meetings and in-service training as requested, staying up-to-date on best practices and educational developments.
  • Support and promote administrative policies and goals, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.
Qualifications
  • ISBE PEL Endorsed or Approved for LBS2/Bilingual Specialist.
  • Ability to teach multiple grade levels as student populations change, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Capacity to teach a classroom of students within all basic instructional areas, ensuring comprehensive and inclusive education.
  • Ability to work with youth with emotional, behavioral, and academic difficulties, providing targeted support and interventions.
  • Flexibility, teamwork, and creative problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
