About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our Network Security team at Target. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating, owning, and driving architectural changes to accelerate feature development and improve the quality of service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive firewall governance processes and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and audits of existing firewall rules to identify and rectify non-compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with Business Information Security Officers (BISOs) and application teams to ensure alignment with security requirements.
  • Provide expert consultancy to internal teams on network connections and application integrations.
  • Design and implement governance frameworks for cloud segmentation policies, CDN policies, store, distribution center, HQ, and data center segmentation policies.
  • Enhance automation tools and processes for the review, approval, and ongoing segmentation testing of firewall policies against standard security guidelines.
  • Engage in proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies to safeguard all network segments, including analyzing the effectiveness of existing segmentation strategies and supporting penetration testing teams.
  • Document all policy changes and maintain clear audit trails for compliance verification.
About You
  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in network security, with a strong focus on firewall management and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks, including PCI, SOX, and GLBA.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing governance policies for large-scale networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar.
  • Experience with Google Cloud, CDN Fastly, Check Point, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Iptables firewall products.
  • Prior experience in a Fortune 50 retail environment.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages like Python.
Work Arrangement

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location and virtually, depending upon what your role, team, and tasks require for that day.
