Job Summary

HSS Inc is seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team in patient monitoring. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for protecting staff, patients, and visitors in our healthcare settings. This role requires a strong ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations, as well as the ability to physically intervene during crises.

Responsibilities

Respond to emergency and non-emergency situations in a timely and effective manner
Monitor at-risk patients for hour shifts
Verbally intervene during crisis situations
Physically intervene during crises, including restraining individuals if necessary
Escort persons and assist client personnel
Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers, client staff members, and other client vendors
Perform other duties as directed by the Security leader and/or other recognized leadership personnel

Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Equivalency
Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable jurisdictional security license(s) or certifications
Ability to complete all training and pass all competency tasks in the allotted time period
Previous experience working with the public in a service setting is preferred
Ability to work and interact with a variety of people, including HSS Inc employees, client employees, patients, visitors, physicians, and the general public
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English language proficiently
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Proficient in basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and email, with the ability to learn other programs as needed

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to walk, stand, sit, and observe for extended periods of time, as well as the ability to help restrain or lift individuals. The individual must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to pounds, and frequently use hands to handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are also essential for this role.
