Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional Support Specialist to join our team at Champaign Unit 4 Schools. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to teachers and students in a general education setting
  • Assist with lesson planning and implementation
  • Help maintain a safe and organized learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
Requirements
  • Paraprofessional License or ability to obtain license
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents
  • Possess good human relations and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more
  • Ability to use approved student restraints
  • Ability to bend, stoop, turn, squat or lift in order to serve student needs
Benefits
  • The hourly wage for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Educational Support Professionals
  • 100% of an employee's contributions to IMRF are currently paid by the Board of Education

  • There are opportunities for employees to earn additional compensation during the regular school year and in the summer
