We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Operations Specialist to join our team at ASR Group/Domino Sugar. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of high pressure boilers, steam-driven turbine generators, pumps, air compressors, fans, and auxiliary equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain high pressure boilers, steam-driven turbine generators, pumps, air compressors, fans, and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor and control the operation of the power house, including the startup and shutdown of all equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, including minor mechanical repairs.
- Collect and record data on equipment performance and report any problems or issues to management.
- Collaborate with process supervisors to identify power or steam deficiencies and implement solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot processes and conditions to ensure optimal performance.
- Notify management of any alarm signals or equipment malfunctions.
- Valid Maryland First Grade Stationary Engineer License.
- Formal training and experience in the operation of high pressure boilers and steam-driven turbine generators.
- 5 years of experience with Boiler/Powerhouse Utilities and any processes that involve both high pressure steam generation and power generation.
- Experience with energy improvement programs and utility switching is a plus.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent shifts, overtime, and vacation coverage. The ability to work indoors and outdoors, and to climb ladders and wear proper PPE and fall protection where required, is essential.
