The Project Controls Specialist is integral in consolidating project scope and financials for initiatives valued between ~$25M and $1B+. This role ensures adherence to governance protocols and supports the Project Manager in securing executive endorsement throughout the project lifecycle. The specialist will also formulate responses to regulatory and legal inquiries concerning estimated project costs, acting as a subject matter authority on estimation and aggregation methodologies.

  • Engage with Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, and other departments to strategize, schedule, and supervise the collection of project scope and cost at various stages.
  • Evaluate cost estimates against historical data for similar projects and investigate any discrepancies with estimators from relevant teams.
  • Oversee documentation for stage gate updates and regulatory filings.
  • Conduct peer evaluations of project aggregations and generate Cost Estimates for a variety of projects.
  • Prepare scope take-offs based on specifications, drawings, and estimated material and labor costs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review cost estimates and secure necessary approvals.
  • Perform comprehensive variance analysis and peer reviews of Cost Estimates to ensure precision.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in the construction sector.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other design software.
  • Capable of interpreting engineering plans and schematics.
  • Familiarity with Best Management Practices and safety regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent communication capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented, innovative, and analytical mindset.

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
